Artist's Description
In 2013, iPlaid was serendipitously created on the Apple iPad as my first digital piece of art and because It was a plaid, I decided to call it iPlaid, in memoriam of Steve Jobs who suffered from pancreatic cancer as did my husband. The acronym "Intuitive Passion Launches an Inner Discovery" rang true as it just happened and allowed me to create a Program that we now call "iPlaid". What does iPlaid mean? The red color denotes a sense of urgency/emergency to rid all of this silent killer. The two yellow dots are eyes watching out for a cure with the cancer in black in the middle. The blue lines denote the blue sky at the end of the tunnel while the neon yellow surrounding the image shows the ray of hope for a cure. This image will make a difference for many including pancreatic cancer patients and families of those who are trying to win the battle now. It is so difficult to explain the reality of this disease. Over 62,000 people will be diagnosed this year. My goal is to help researche...
About Susan Fielder
I'm making a difference for all of the wonderful people who are currently fighting and have lost their battle with pancreatic cancer- I call it the Silent Killer. The program I created is called iPlaid and stands for "Intuitive Passion Launches an Inner Discovery". This journey of creating art brought me through the grieving and loss of my husband who was a wonderful man and deserved to enjoy his retirement, friends and family, but instead this cancer took us into a world that was unknown with unparalleled experiences. Hence, my creations are what has happened since his death. Not planned, nor articulated, just what became. I pray about it and know that the answers are there.
